Project Support Officer (PSO)

Location(s): Raleigh/UK travel

Summary of Role:


The Training Equipment PSO role is responsible to the Raytheon Selborne Training Equipment Change Manager for assisting in leading
and coordinating organizational change initiatives. A PSO acts as the driving force and has a direct impact on the efficiency and overall success of the project. This requires excellent communication, organisational skills, logical thinking, and problem solving. Working as a Project Support Officer brings new tasks and challenges on a daily basis. The role will be based in HMS Raleigh and will require regular travel to naval training sites across the UK.

Main Duties:

To assist the Change Manager in providing support to employees during the transition to new changes within the training equipment organization. It includes helping to plan, implement and monitor changes.

The roles main duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist in creating change management strategies to achieve the training equipment organizational goals.
  • Communicating change management plans to training equipment staff and key stakeholders to ensure their understanding and buy-in.
  • Leading, coordinating, and managing change management activities.
  • Identify and comment on procedures to identify where improvements can be made and introduce local processes to ensure that the project runs smoothly.
  • Set up and manage training equipment Change meetings and TE Change board meetings, ensuring that all relevant paperwork is up-to-date and disseminated in a timely fashion. Providing all resultant minutes are completed within a 48-hour time window and sent out to all relevant committee members.
  • To provide additional project admin support for Training Equipment and system replacement projects in liaison with designated Project Managers and Team Leaders.

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
  • Ability to operate changes on your own and as part of a group.
  • Organizing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • To be able to drive processes in leading and implementing change management initiatives.
  • Good interpersonal and professional communication skills.

Desirable:

Should have some experience in:

  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace (Essential).
  • Recent experience of working within Defence/Industry collaborative projects.
  • Financial awareness and ability to manage finances.
