The Opportunity:
The ePropulsion Commercial Programme Management team plays an integral role in the strategy development, sourcing, and launch of Battery / EDU and Powerpack programmes for Jaguar Land Rover. As we continue to develop our electrified models, this role presents an exciting opportunity for a commercial programme management professional to join our Battery team.
Here at Jaguar Land Rover, we manage the delivery of new unit programmes through multifunctional / multi activity frameworks ensuring successful progression through Programme gateways achieving stringent cost and quality targets from concept and strategy through to launch phase.
This role requires building strong cross-functional relationships with numerous stakeholders within Procurement (Buyers), Programme teams, Finance, Cost Engineering and Product Engineering.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Role:
Being the voice and conscience of ePropulsion Procurement in the cross functional team supporting development, launch and lifecycle. Ensuring that the tasks / activities to deliver the new Battery programmes are understood and communicated to the wider ePropulsion Procurement commodity teams. This includes:
- Understanding the wants and needs of the Battery teams to determine how these can be best met by the Supplier network through close alignment and communication with key stakeholder• Ensuring stakeholders are kept appropriately briefed on relevant strategy, processes, and opportunities to derive maximum benefit for JLR
- Enhance key stakeholder relationships across the organisation to provide the best overall outcomes from the supply chain
- Represent Procurement through programme meeting cadence and ensure commercial inputs and outputs are actioned in accordance with Programme requirements
- Creating and managing metrics / communicating information to internal customers in timely and structured way
- Ensure that all cost deliverables have Procurement input into the Programme Finances including cost opportunities, highlighting cost risk and associated mitigation plans
- Drive continuous improvement and problem solving, working with key stakeholders, internal customers and process improvement teams.
- Ensure that commodity Procurement teams are aware of the process inputs & drive Right First Time (RFT).
- Working directly with the commodity Procurement teams to ensure that any risks to sourcing timelines are flagged with mitigation plans developed through collaborative working
- Validate up stream inputs and ensure dependencies are in place and within the overall plan, to ensure successful on time programme delivery
- Communicating Programme changes to ensure impact assessment in relation to Purchasing tasks / deliverables
- Lead the Procurement Programme inputs on gateway papers
- Embrace, influence and lead the way for Agile methodology
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Experience Required :
Essential
- Proven experience of successful project delivery in challenging cross functional environments to time and budget
- Ability to lead, facilitate and resolve complex cross-functional issues via proven problem-solving methods and skill set
- Organised with excellent time management skills
- Strong Influencing and negotiation skills
- Relationship management experience
- Strong motivation and coaching skills to guide and support cross-functional teams throughout a project
Desirable
- Previous experience working in an Agile development / programme management environment
- Professionally qualified, i.e. educated to Degree, MCIPS or Professional Programme Management level with a proven track record in a Commercial Programme Management or complex business environment
- Exposure to SAP systems
- Intermediate to advance user of Microsoft Office & Excel
