The Museum of London is looking to recruit exceptional individuals to play a key role in preparing its collections as it embarks on a major capital project to build a new museum in the historic West Smithfield market building and relocate the museum’s collections to this new space.
Working alongside curators, registrars, conservators, collection care and documentation colleagues this post will inventory the collection, improve and expand collections information, build new digital assets and address documentation backlogs.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the museum’s extensive collections. Working predominantly at the London Wall site you will be expected to carry out tasks with a high degree of accuracy and enjoy solving complex and challenging documentation issues whilst also being willing and able to record large amounts of data. You will work with the museum collections management system, handle and pack objects and carry out digital photography. You will be highly organised and self-motivated with good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your own workload. You will also be a committed team player and excellent communicator.
