Project Administrator – Accounting

It’s an exciting time to join Stantec as we continue to grow our presence in the UK& Ireland. Our plans include both organic and acquisitional growth and to support this, we have plans to expand our Finance Team.
We currently have a number of exciting opportunities for Project Administrators to join our Project Accounting team in Reading or Warrington. This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team that support a busy engineering consultancy who are involved in a wide variety of development and infrastructure projects across the country. You will also become part of a wider finance team that are spread across the UK and support the needs of our business nationally.

You will have the opportunity to get involved in some exciting projects that will give you valuable experience. Some of your day to day duties will include the following:
- Ownership of a portfolio of projects assigned by the Project Analyst and/or Finance BP
- Close collaboration with project managers to maintain integrity over the project portfolio
- Project setup and budget change documentation
- Ensure projects are setup in Oracle with the correct client approved value, billing rates and other variables required to ensure proper revenue recognition per Stantec policy.
- Collaborate with PM and PMAs to generate, finalize and issue client invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the contractual terms for each project.
- Collaborate with Stantec’s RNet finance team in Pune, India to ensure timely delivery and accurate completion of tasks they support.
- Work with PM’s to provide explanation for significant aged WIP to ensure transparency to operations management.
- Ensure all assigned functions are carried out in compliance with approved policies, key controls, and standard practices.
About You:
You will be a self-starter who works best within a team and a genuine people person with excellent customer service and communication skills. You will have an interest in working a hands-on administrative role within in a busy finance department.
You will have strong analytical, numerical, and organisational skills as well as having a great eye for detail. You will have experience with MS Office while any exposure or knowledge of Oracle or SOX would be beneficial.
A relevant degree or diploma qualification is an advantage but not essential. This is an entry level role so previous accounting experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
