Project Accounting Manager
Salary: £45-55,000 pa
Location: London / Hybrid working
My client is a global leader in the development, building, and operation of solar power projects. Since its founding in 2001 in Germany, the company has grown into a worldwide enterprise with over 500 people in five countries. My customer has installed more than 480 PV systems with a combined output of over 4 GW to date. As one of the largest O&M service providers in the world, the solar energy specialist also operates and maintains 1,7 GW of PV systems. My client's objective is to progress the European energy transition and ensure future generations have access to clean energy.
They want a committed Project Accountant to join their UK Business Unit and assist the finance department with general project accounting responsibilities. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and exciting worldwide leader in renewable energy. Working with our Management, EPC teams, and the rest of the financial team will provide this individual with the ability to continually increase his/her exposure and establish a fulfilling finance career.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Set-up
- Project monitoring including being responsible for the timely and accurate recording, preparation and presentation of project financial information
- Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all financial information presented at the Monthly Project reviews
- POC calculations
- Provide ongoing financial advice and support to the Project Managers and their team.
- Responsible for ensuring that costs to complete and their assumptions are properly supported and disclosed. Ensure that project financial forecasts are aligned with project programmes.
- Ensure that project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews.
- Ensure that project cash flow is managed in the best interest of the business.
- Validating invoices
- Updating of project plans
- Reconciliations of project variances, WIP and invoicing
- Analysis of project costs against budget
- Set-up and manage project trackers in Excel
- Reporting and Ad-hoc queries
- To undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs
Skills Required
The ideal candidate for this Project Accountant role will be someone part-qualified on ACCA/CIMA or AAT. However, you could also be a recent graduate or further-education leaver (with a Finance related course) with an interest in starting a career in Finance/accounting, or an individual with previous experience in a similar Project Finance role. You will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and develop in a varied role that will require you to adapt and manage in a changing environment. The successful candidate will have:
