Reporting to –
Production Manager
Hours / Shift Pattern –
Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Friday 8am to 1.30pm.
Purpose of the role -
Lead production machining engineering support
On-site CNC program writing specialist. Working with Machine Shop Setters to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Duties and responsibilities -
- Produce CNC programs for Fanuc controlled multi spindle, multi turret turning machines. Ensuring that set up and cycle times are optimised.
- Support CNC Setters and Operators to prove out programs on the shop floor.
- Analyse production problems, identify and implement engineered solutions to fix root cause.
- Drive quality process control.
- Ensures new and existing products are routed through best cost and quality solution to meet cost targets and implement changed.
- Leads process layout of new product and carries out / owns all activity including PFMEAs to ensure process controls required are in place. Provide manufacturability feedback to engineering in new design.
- Lead and measure improvements to company in terms of cost, quality and delivery.
- Develop and maintain the tool library and all documentation. Select, scope, justify and implement new equipment and tooling. Liaise directly with suppliers to support tooling or equipment procurement.
- Update engineering documentation in line with quality management system.
- Support of commodity product and any other process / product transfers.
- Adhere to current Amphenol policies typically including COSHH for the introduction of new materials / chemicals into test, development or Production.
- Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

- Actively participate in recruitment of staff.

- Deliver best practice and ensure consistency for all activities and identify and reduce non-value activities.
- Ensure that all activity is within Budget.
