The United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA) provides health security for the nation by protecting us from infectious disease and external hazards.
UKHSA is looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic Programme Manager to join its exciting and fundamental Transformation and Licence to Operate Programme for REPLACEMENT_STRING24. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise having worked on various transformation programmes in a public sector environment.
The Programme Manager is accountable for the performance of the programme teams and the delivery of products and services within it, ensuring it meets the needs of UKHSA and internal users.
Fixed term role until 31st March 2024 with travel to London office 1/2 a month.
Main Responsibilities- Building and maintaining multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring that they are motivated, organised and collaborating to agreed iterative plans
- Coaching teams and team members, facilitating continuous improvement and applying the most appropriate Agile and lean tools and techniques to product delivery
- Planning and communicating with stakeholders, overcoming challenges and visualising progress towards agreed objectives
- Identifying the people, skills, and resources that teams need to deliver to agreed objectives
- Proactively managing the risks, issues, dependencies and blockers to delivery as well as any delegated budgets and benefit/value realisation and reporting these appropriately.
- You will be learning, sharing and applying skills and knowledge to improve delivery outcomes.
- Keeping the programme teams focussed on identifying and meeting user needs so that they remain on track to meet objectives
- Demonstrable experience in delivering various successful transformation projects
- Public sector experience
- Demonstrable experience of leading delivery using a range of Agile and lean tools and techniques, empowering agile teams to be self-organising, inclusive and continuously improving.
- Communicate with others in a clear, honest and enthusiastic way in order to build trust and delivering difficult messages, being persuasive when required making sure all stakeholder expectations are managed.
- Ability to work well under pressure, motivating and supporting others to deliver under challenging timescales and with competing priorities.
- Excellent presentation, briefing and drafting skills.
- Experience in planning, forecasting, estimating and delivering in an often uncertain and fast changing environment
