A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Data Modernisation Programme Director/ Senior Delivery Lead to join a major global Insurer and participate in an exciting journey leading the digitalisation of the specialist insurance market.

You will lead ALL Data Modernisation programme from an IT perspective partnering with my client’s strategic vendors and working closely with business teams ensuring projects and activities are co-ordinated with appropriate collaboration and that stakeholders are kept informed in particular working closely with Chief Data Officer (CDO) & Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

This is a Director level position therefore strong Delivery experience gained in the Insurance sector is required.

Practically you will be working collaboratively with internal colleagues (ie Data & IT) & external vendors, you will be responsible for creating a high performance initiative environment, underpinned by effective communications and co-ordination across the modernisation programme.

You will drive continuous improvement across your initiative whilst working effectively with my client’s Data function to develop data capability. The Senior Delivery Lead – Data, will be a servant leader and agile champion for the Data Modernisation initiative and wider business.

Responsibilities:

• Optimise the roll-out of the Data initiative to deliver the agreed business outcomes
• Identify, track, remove and act as point of escalation for impediments and risks across the initiative
• In partnership with the Product Lead, Suppliers and the Data Leadership team, ensure initiative financial targets and OKRs are met
• Coordinate design choices, sign-off and changes with the Programme design authority
• Balance capacity and priorities within the initiative to ensure a sustainable delivery cadence
• Participate in, and support as required, the squad’s planning and delivery process
• Manage the quarterly and annual business review processes for this initiative

Knowledge and Experience

• Proven success of implementing the delivery of complex & technical data solutions, ideally within a financial services/ insurance environment .
• Experience of successfully delivering Data Modernisation / Transformation programmes
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into appropriate technical solutions
• An interest & awareness of data industry trends and a desire to continuously expand on your knowledge.
• Experience in collaboratively working with subject matter experts (ie Data & IT colleagues) using their knowledge, background and expertise to deliver the desired business outcomes
• Extensive experience managing and coaching diverse teams to deliver business outcomes
• Proven success operating in complex delivery environments and experience in implementing New Ways of Working (e.g. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)/Scrum at Scale (SoS)
• Demonstrated understanding of delivery metrics and OKRs
