Job description

We are looking for a Production Technician to help us scale our next-generation laser processing platform.

Opsydia is transforming security and traceability in the diamond gemstone industry with its precision laser technology. Our first deployed products utilise optical techniques to write internal IDs inside diamonds, supporting traceability initiatives for ethical supply chains.

Our technology also provides a platform for next-generation functional devices in diamond. In the research and development stage it has a number of potential disruptive applications, from quantum devices to chemical and magnetic sensors.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Production team for Opsydia’s next-generation laser systems. As Production Technician you will build systems and sub-systems ensuring the correct quality standard is maintained. In this hands-on role you will undertake the assembly, inspection, system set-up and testing of all our customer-delivered production units. You will also support laboratory and development work as for customer and early stage projects; working closely with systems and production engineering.

In particular you will:

To be a suitable candidate for this role you will need to be comfortable working hands-on within a Production environment. You will ensure systems are built to the required standard using controlled documentation and support company wide improvement initiatives. • BTEC I/II or HNC/HND or equivalent qualification within engineering discipline.
  • Practical experience working with Optical / laser systems.
  • Practical experience working with computer networking and configuration.
  • Working knowledge MRP/ERP systems.
