The Opportunity
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Working as part of a shift-based team in a fast-changing environment, role involves preparing and loading materials onto machines, monitoring machine whilst running product, ensuring quality standards are met at all times before being transported to our internal customers in Cartoning & Kitting. The role also includes supporting R&D and the transfer of new product into manufacturing.
Responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient manufacture of medical devices on web-based production lines and associated equipment in line with quality standards and customer demand.
The Role
- Carry out all manufacturing operations efficiently as per SOP/WI to meet daily manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
- Understand and ensure manufacturing process critical quality elements (CTQs) are met.
- Manage materials efficiently within the manufacturing area. Ensure all issues are highlighted in a timely manner and resolve where possible.
- Support routine calibration/maintenance checks to keep manufacturing equipment compliant.
- Support development trials for new products
- Support Engineering/Production operations as required, in line with SOP/WI.
- Carry out duties in line with Lean Manufacturing / 5S techniques.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant GMP and HSE requirements.
- Support set up and running of automated manufacturing/processing equipment to meet CTQ’s (eg: ink jet printing, laser cutting, liquid dispensing, lamination)
- Be familiar with business goals and work with colleagues in delivery of individual and team goals.
- Maintain the cleanliness of machine and manufacturing area.
- Undertake own training and support development of team members.
- Communicate effectively within own shift, other shifts/depts and external contacts as required.
About You
- Experience of working within GMP / other regulated manufacturing environment.
- Motivated and able to work well with others and alone if required
- Demonstrate flexibility, self-control and lead by example
- Experience of following/working to written procedures and completing accurate records
- Experience in a fast paced/changing manufacturing environment
- Experience of running semi-automatic/automatic production machines desirable
- Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting desirable
- Maintain high EHS standards
- Computer literate & good communicator.
