Job description
We have a vacancy for a trainee Control Room Operator / lab tester to join our team at Cauldon Cement Plant in Staffordshire. The role is predominantly lab testing based initially, with a view to train to an accredited level control room operator. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all plant including the kiln, fuels, grinding mills and other associated equipment.
Within the trainee role, you will ensure that the quality plans are adhered to in order to meet the demands of the plant as part of the production shift team, whilst responding under the direction of the shift manager to any additional tasks that may arise around the site. With full training on offer, you’ll ensure the sampling, testing and reporting of any raw materials and finished products produced on-site in accordance to set compliance standards whilst also training towards becoming a control room operator.

Plant operations are 365 days, 24/7 and the role will operate to the relevant shift pattern, involving
night working, weekend and Bank holidays.

What will you bring?
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Computer literacy (Basics on Word, Excel, SAP etc.).
- Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and leads by example in relation
- to safety standards.
- Ideally some operational experience in a similar role or plant but not essential for the right candidate.
