Our business has been trading since 1997 and is a recognised brand in the development and production of high-quality lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery cells across a range of markets including automotive and energy storage.
We are going through an exciting period of rapid growth and are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production workers to ensure that products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a production team and will have a proven track record of improving manufacturing processes.
This post reports directly to the Production Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conform to and improve company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) procedures and practices.
- Actively participate in the Company’s Learning Event process, to improve safety standards and awareness.
- Ensure appropriate use of PPE at all times.
- Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed and that all employees are trained to work safely.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on 5S, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Setting, maintaining, and improving EHS culture and processes through leading by example.
- Scheduling of tasks and activities for the production team on a day-to-day basis
- Meeting or exceeding production targets in relation to output and quality.
- Manage and supervise the production team to ensure that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement production plans and schedules to optimize production efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure that all production processes and procedures are followed and continuously improved.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for improvement in processes, quality, and efficiency.
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that products are manufactured to the required specifications.
- Communicate production progress and issues to senior management.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring the steps of the process; ensuring product is available, observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; logging and validating targets per machine.
- Oversee training plans for your production team utilising skills matrix.
- Upkeep of all SOP relating to production activities.
- Achieve planned KPI targets.
- Monitor, report, and achieve machine hourly / daily targets.
- Oversee machine operations and scheduling PPM.
- Organise the forward planning of parts ordering to ensure uninterrupted machine operation.
- Ensure staff understand the current and next product scheduled on each work centre.
- Monitor, report and maintain efficiencies of all work centres.
- Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, labour, and equipment availability.
- Manage changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
Requirements:
- An NQV/C&G/BTEC level 3 in engineering, or a related field.
- Industry experience in a production supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production management systems.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ERP systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
