Objective of the Function:

  • Operate plant and equipment to ensure products are processed on time to meet production schedules, working in accordance with relevant safety and quality operating procedures.
  • Work on a “4 on 4 off” continental shift pattern; 07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out tasks in accordance with Sterigenics Quality & Safety Procedures at all times.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, having due regard for own and others safety
  • Carry out movement of customers’ product using a forklift truck and pallet trucks.
  • Execute each stage of the sterilization process: receiving, load preparation, pre-conditioning, chambers, degassing, aeration and sampling.
  • Communicate regularly throughout the shift with the other team members.
  • Report any deviation from procedures or other problems in a timely manner.
  • Aid in the investigation of deficiencies, with any suggestions to prevent recurrence.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or potentially hazardous situation.
  • Report any damage to plant, equipment or the fabric of the building, however caused.
  • Inspect and report any damage to customers’ product, however caused.
  • Receive full and despatch empty ethylene oxide gas cylinders when required.
  • Change ethylene oxide gas cylinders when required.
  • Assist with preparation and removal of samples from validation loads
  • Carry out plant cleaning requirements as stated in schedules and keep all warehouses and processing areas free of rubbish/obstructions.
  • Wear personal protective clothing and equipment issued by the Company as instructed and trained in accordance with safe operating procedures.
  • Change forklift truck batteries when required. Ensure battery water levels are maintained correctly in the forklift trucks, floor scrubbing machine, AGV and electric pallet trucks.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and effectively act as the Company’s representative at all times.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as and when required.
  • Participate in carrying out risk assessments.
  • Ensure the continued running of the plant by providing cover during periods of absence (e.g. holidays, sickness and training) by working a reasonable amount of overtime.
  • Undertake the operation of new technology developed by the Company to increase throughput, efficiency and improve customer service, as deemed necessary to keep existing business and secure new business.
  • Work on written and verbal instructions from the Shift Team Leader or another member of supervision/management.
  • Undertake any other duties deemed necessary by a member of supervision/management.

Requirements:

  • Good general education, including numeracy and literacy.
  • Valid reach and counterbalance fork truck licenses.
  • Understand and use of Microsoft Applications (Edge, Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Use of Barcode Scanners
  • Basic understanding on the operation of mechanical equipment
  • Experience working in a regulated environment would be advantageous

Annual Salary:

  • Basic = £24000
  • Shift Allowance = £5328
  • Attendance Bonus = £2256

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £31,000.00 per year
