Recent films include the Palme d’Or winning TRIANGLE OF SADNESS (Ruben Östlund), nominated for a BAFTA alongside BLUE JEAN (Georgia Oakley) and AFTERSUN (Charlotte Wells) starring Paul Mescal. BBC Film also had three films premiere at Sundance 2023: SCRAPPER (Charlotte Regan) starring Harris Dickinson, Laura Aikman and Ambreen Razia which won the World Cinema Dramatic Grand Jury Prize, GIRL (Adura Onashile) starring Déborah Lukumuena and Le’Shantey Bonsu, and RYE LANE (Raine Allen-Miller) starring David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah. The Production Manager manages on a day-to-day basis, in partnership with their editorial colleagues, one or more productions and/or a portfolio of content. This role ensures delivery of accurate budgets and production planning in a demanding and changing environment. The Production Manager supports the Head of Production and Production Executive by contributing to the commissioning and setting up of productions, ensuring resources and editorial aspirations are aligned.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe Production Manager will provide film production support for the Production & Finance team and work closely with editorial colleagues, the independent film production community, freelancers and suppliers. You will provide financial support for the Senior Business Manager and play a key role in setting up productions, departmental cost management, monitoring and controlling expenditure against budget. You will assist with the collection of revenue and ensure that this is reflected accurately and correctly on the system which will include liaising with external film collection agents, legal practitioners and other financiers. The Production Manager will distribute relevant BBC policies, guidelines, legislative and regulatory requirements, ensuring productions are aware and compliant. You will monitor production paperwork including call sheets, progress reports, and post production schedules. The role will require the compilation of regular monthly and ad-hoc internal financial reports and other statistical information where required.

Are you the right candidate?You will be an experienced Production Coordinator or a Production Manager, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, ideally with a track record of managing multiple projects and fast turnaround productions. You will have a keen interest and knowledge of theatrical films and must have experience of working in a feature film environment, preferably in a similar capacity. You must have working knowledge of the film market place and an understanding of the workings of the key UK distributors, sales agents and public funding bodies. You should be proficient in using excel, good numeracy skills and a concern for financial accuracy, with experience of using SAP desirable.
