Who are we looking for?: We are seeking a driven, motivated Production/Warehouse Manager to join our team.

In this role you will have ownership over a small but busy workforce, catering for both e- commerce and internal/external orders. You will need to be proactive, able to prioritise and communicate well.

It is essential that you have experience in a similar position or are an experienced, Production Supervisor/Team Leader looking to progress your career as a Production Manager and are comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.

Job specification:

  • Fully responsible and accountable for operations at the Bakery & Warehouse
  • Overseeing daily activities of the bakery – including planning, production, e-commerce fulfilment, warehousing and distribution, as well as purchasing functions.
  • Oversight of production volumes, site efficiency, quality assurance, health & safety. Drive operational excellence and develop continuous improvement strategies for production.
  • Production management - including production planning, in line with bottom line efficiencies, appropriate staff utilization.
  • Purchasing of Raw Materials.
  • Ensuring production capacity is maximized at all times,
  • E-commerce fulfilment management – overseeing this area and ensuring all online orders are fulfilled within the appropriate time frames
  • Overseeing Stock and warehousing – goods in / goods out procedures are followed in synergy with stock management system
  • Full compliance management – H&S, Food Safety, up to date documentation, training material and maintenance management
  • People Management – Develop and lead a high-performing team to ensure the highest standards are delivered and provide guidance. and coaching for those responsible for the day-to-day production operations.
  • Be a role model in terms of how to collaborate and influence to achieve improved performance.
  • Project management and working with the NPD / Marketing team to successfully launch new products on a regular basis.
  • HR Duties – On boarding & contracts, payroll submission, absence/sickness.
  • Production – technical and quality control and compliance, labour control, production planning and scheduling.
  • Improving production processes.
  • Weekly reporting and ensuring company KPIs are met – labour, productivity, wastage, inventory management.
  • Manage all aspects of material usage including stock control, rotation and ordering and effective waste management.
  • Providing strong leadership.
  • Leading by example.
  • Working collaboratively with all relevant teams.

Person specification:

  • Managerial experience is essential
  • Production management experience within FMCG, Food Manufacturing would be desirable.
  • Bakery experience is preferred
  • A relevant manufacturing background, ideally with experience in small batch production would be ideal
  • Exceptional financial acumen, confidence and ability in understanding profit margins and costing products independently
  • Structured and systematic person with hands-on attitude
  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience of legislation relating to food safety
  • Flexible and stress resistant personality
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize heavy work load and remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills & project management skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Focused on continuous improvement
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Good analytical and reporting skills - familiar with excel/word.

Hours of work:

5 days a week. (May include weekends in very busy periods, such as Black Friday and Christmas)

Hours: 8.00am -5.00pm (40 hours/week)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
