Job description
This role of Chief Operating Officer is key to turning strategic intent into reality. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and the Minister for Cabinet Office, you will lead Cabinet Office in its central role at the heart of the Isle of Man Government. You will play a vital role in developing excellent national and cross Government policy, supporting the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers, delivering central operational services that keep the day to day of Government activities going and leading the delivery of change and efficiency projects.
In this role, you will aim to align the functions of Cabinet Office in a more effective way to support even greater delivery of Government’s priorities. You will also lead Divisions to achieve the strategic objectives set out in the Cabinet Office Plan. The plan brings focus for the rest of the administration and includes aims to improve public service performance and delivery, provide a single point of contact within the Department in relation to major opportunities and strategic matters and also develop the strategic capacity and policy making approach.
You will provide a critical role in leading, developing and co-ordinating cross-Government working, helping to shape the future of Isle of Man Government and improve Public Service Delivery, maximising the use of its resources and having effective plans for service delivery and development in place. You will also play a key role in inter-departmental projects, working closely with Departmental Chief Officers to deliver strategic programmes and core actions set out in Our Island Plan.
