PERMANENT FULL TIME CLASS TEACHER
Main scale/UPS: £28,000 to £43,685 plus SEN Allowance £2,270

Chesnut Lodge Special School caters for pupils aged 2 – 16 years, with complex learning needs arising from physical, sensory and medical difficulties. The school is well resourced and enjoys a high profile within the local community.
The Governors, staff and children are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, energetic, versatile and committed class teacher with a passion for enhancing the quality of life for every child within an environment where all pupils can thrive and be happy.
We are looking for a teacher who is:-

- Able to work within the larger school team and manage a small team of class staff.
While It is desirable that you have experience of working with children with complex learning needs it is only essential that you are proactive in making learning fun, engaging and relevant to the individual needs of the pupils in your care. You will be a team worker with a positive outlook and good listening skills with the ability to be both resolute and compassionate in nature.
We are committed to providing high quality Continuing Professional Development and will support you by providing appropriate training and support for the post. Given the wide range of needs and Key Stage coverage, you should have the qualities, flexibility, interest and expertise to teach in all areas of the school as required.
The successful applicant will be required to complete appropriate training programmes, including those required to meet the physical, including intimate care, feeding, behavioural and medical needs of the students.
