Amazon Shopping Videos (ASV) is a growing business within the Amazon Advertising, IMDb and Grand Challenge (AIGC) business unit. AIGC is one of the fastest growing business units within Amazon, with the highest percentage margin contribution of any large business. ASV is delivering the video shopping experience to Amazon consumers, with a purpose to enable customers to find inspiration, information, entertainment, and community through videos at any point in their shopping journey. The ASV team designs, builds and operates both owned and operated destination experiences (e.g._amazon.com/live_ (http://amazon.com/live), Amazon Live Shopping on Fire TV), as well as federated experiences across the_Amazon.com_ (http://amazon.com/) website (e.g. Amazon homepage, product detail pages for over 21MM products). In addition, ASV sources shoppable video content from brands, influencers and consumers to populate both types of experiences.

The Manager, Production Operations and Strategy will develop and drive operational processes for ASV’s entire content team (e.g., business reviews, finance and operations, goal management) and own day to day management of our NY studio as well as remote production operations. The Production Operations and Strategy Manager will also drive evolution and execution of our content strategy, and partner with leadership to balance crew and on-camera talent resources with content creation demands. A successful candidate for this role will have deep production experience, understand how to maintain relationships with strategic business partners, manage incoming projects, track goal progress, ensure that budgets and deadlines are met, and partner with the tech development team to create tools for our workflow. The ideal candidate influences successfully at all levels, thinks strategically, is a talented writer and organizer, takes initiative, and operates effectively across many diverse teams. The candidate sees around corners, is biased for action in ensuring the team is set up for success in achieving our goals, and earns trust with the ASV content team and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is objective and data-driven with decision making and will have proven executive level communication skills. He/she must be organized and have a knack for problem solving and skilled with influence to deliver through others. In addition, this candidate must uphold a high standard of integrity and discretion and tactfully confidential matters.

Key job responsibilities
Lead team of broadcast engineers, editors and production specialists and manage workload; partner with HR and Head of Content to help manage recruiting, onboarding of new team members, career progression, individual learning & development and team building
  • Develop, defend and execute budgets and schedules for content team, studio and projects including crew and equipment resources
  • Conduct research, develop analysis and grow relationships with leaders across the organization to gain and share strategic insights, serving as a trusted advisor on complex business decisions
  • Ensure implementation and execution of both production and business auditing and operating mechanisms, including tracking goals, escalations, forward looking program needs, and review of documents
  • Identify and resolve ambiguity, drive prioritization between objectives and teams, and surface and address risks to success
  • Coordinate with software development team to implement continual system innovations
  • Contribute to knowledge management tools such as wikis and shared drives; develop and assist with implementing training and SOP materials

  • Knowledge of video production crews, live streaming technologies, studio workflows, edit and post- production techniques, production calendars and staffing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $149,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $277,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
