Job description

The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.

We are looking for a Production Team Coordinator to join our busy and growing organisation. The Team Coordinator plays a vital role within the organisation and helps to facilitate the daily functions and operations.


Working Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00


Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and organising resources to achieve targets and to maximise product quality and efficiency.
  • Liaise daily with the Production Team Leader and carry out instructions.
  • Monitor output and respond to correct production issues.
  • Ensure the shift is always working to operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Deliver high standards of quality and ensure deliveries are achieved.
  • Ensure all standards and criteria are consistently developed and improved.
  • Provide regular feedback to team members on their performance.
  • Conduct consistent daily briefings with the team.
  • Working closely with the production manager, maintaining open order book (backlog), provide recommit dates and help set/maintain routines to hit the target shipment volumes.


Required skills/experience:

  • Minimum of two years experience within a manufacturing or process driven environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate previous experience in leading a team or a similar role.
  • Able to demonstrate techniques in team motivation.
  • Ability to identify and improve processes or procedures.
  • Able to identify your teams strengths, weaknesses and training requirements.
  • PC literate (Microsoft Office) and SAP.
  • Good communication skills.


Desirable skills/experience:

  • Health & Safety qualification- IOSH Managing Safely
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques, 5s,6 Sigma, SMED, TPM and OEE and how to implement.
