Global Communications and PR Manager
London/Birmingham/Basingstoke/Poole

Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Global Communications and PR Manager to join our HR team to be based in either London County Hall, our fantastic Birmingham Cluster site, our Finance Hub in Basingstoke, or our Poole Head Office. It will report into the Head of Internal Comms/Head of External Communications on a permanent basis, with a salary up to £40,000 based on skills and experience.
Merlin Entertainments is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Global Communications and PR Manager to join our Corporate Communications department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in amplifying and driving positive communications for our company.
As the Global Communications and PR Manager, you will be responsible for managing Merlin's corporate presence through proactive PR, positive news coverage, and a range of engaging content. You will work closely with the Head of External Communications and Head of Internal Communications to identify, develop, and manage outreach of positive news stories to drive brand awareness both internally and externally.
You will also collaborate with our PR agency to secure positive news coverage across various media outlets and support the Heads of External and Internal Communications with announcement communications for new attractions, locations, and IP partnerships. Your excellent writing skills and ability to package dynamic media content, including video/broadcast, will be crucial in executing a successful communications strategy.
A key area of the role will be giving priority to any issues or crisis response, including written communications, real-time analysis and reporting and identifying proactive opportunities to offset risk.
In addition, you will manage Merlin's corporate channels such as the Merlin Corporate website and social media channels, and support the wider corporate communications and HR teams in developing the Merlin brand and employer value proposition. You will also manage regular All-Hands PR Calls and provide ad-hoc counsel and insight to attractions and wider teams to ensure consistent best-in-class communications across the group.
About You…

You will have extensive experience in PR and media relations

Experience in rapid response and crisis communications is a must

Strong understanding of media and digital landscape

Ability to remain composed and focused in pressurised situations

Knowledge and experience of using digital platforms (website CMS and social channels)

Excellent project management skills
- Ability to interact and advise senior management
- Semi-regular travel to London County Hall offices is necessary but flexibility around where you work will be offered
