Job Description:
Project Leaders - Product Support Engineering
Job duties:
- Provides leadership over moderate to highly complex design projects. Gives direction, guidance and engineering expertise to local and global team members. Reviews work of designers, engineers and other project team members.
- Develops schedules, agendas, facilitates and documents project meetings. Tracks project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Coordinates project planning efforts for low to moderate complexity projects. Identifies critical path tasks and project risks with moderate supervision.
- Frames up technical tradeoff discussions with Marketing and other cross function team members. Exercises effective scheduling development work to meet overall project milestones.
- Ensures effective communication with cross functional international team as well as management team. This includes daily team communications as well as high level project summaries.
- Identifies possible design/manufacturing hurdles that must be overcome to manufacture products. Effectively scrutinize designs for potential weaknesses and suggest improvements.
- Mentors and coaches new members.
Job Requirements:
Master’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering field and 5 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering field and 7 years of relevant experience. Experience must include:
- Management of complex Product Development Projects such as components changing on an existing product, coordinating design improvements, establishing testing requirements to validate the change, reviewing manufacturing processes and organizing production timing.
- Engineering materials used in power tools, including plastics, stampings, metals, or electronics.
- Manufacturing process, including casting, injection molding, heat treatment, grinding stamping, marching, or coating.
- Part Costing Methodologies.
- Global engineering specification such as ANSI, ASTM, ASME, Regulatory, or Environmental.
- Working with cross functional teams, including marketing, quality, reliability, sourcing, production control, and service teams.
- Drafting of test plans and specifications.
- 3D CAD and tolerance analysis.
Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
Partial weekly work from home is allowed on a regular basis.
