https://www.comparably.com/news/best-work-life-balance-2022/

Working within one of TheoremOne’s small, tight-knit product discovery teams, you’ll be integral to leading discovery efforts across varying client projects. You’ll provide a strong product, UX, and research leadership experience within the team and directly to the client. Through close partnership across design, research, and engineering team members, you’ll help to anchor the problem understanding and ideation process around what’s viable for the business and desirable by their users. You’ll be part of a team with engineering and design strategists helping our clients identify the right thing to build, who they’re building it for, and why.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring our client identifies and understands the right problem to solve, along with identifying key areas of risk or complexity that might impact the success of a product.
  • Collaborate with the client and stakeholders to fully understand their users and their customers with research-based personas, customer journeys, and more.
  • Coordinate and lead efforts around user research, from building a research plan and goal to recruiting, facilitating, and synthesis to inform product and service concepts.
  • Advise and challenge peer discovery team members in engineering and design with feedback around product, user experience, and business value that keeps ideation on track.
  • Frequently engage with the client and stakeholders on a project to create clarity around problem understanding and learning and provide confidence in our actions and methods.
  • Ensure the solutions developed are value-driven, modern, and appealing, and meet the quality and expectations of both TheoreOnem and the client.
  • Consistently building collaboration with and transparency for our clients and stakeholders to keep the team and outcomes aligned with defined measures of success.

Qualifications

  • You understand the importance of software product discovery and value problem definition over solutions, learning over insights, direct user feedback, and how those can set up a delivery team for success.
  • You should be passionate about experimentation and understanding user behavior and needs in balance with the client's and their business's needs - and that when user needs are prioritized, business needs are met as a result.
  • You enjoy learning about new business verticals while working with multiple and varied clients over time, often changing projects and clients frequently.
  • You can communicate effectively (removing ambiguity and creating clarity, building trust) directly with cross-functional partners (Engineering, Design, Research, Data Science) and the client and stakeholders.
  • You have a background in, or are passionate about, Product Management, UX, and/or interaction design.
  • You enjoy working at the intersection of product and design and the importance of keeping products user-centered and outcome-driven.
  • Highly collaborative and communicative; takes and gives feedback well.
  • Self-managed; can set timelines independently, adhere to schedules, and work within varied constraints.
  • Understands the imperfect nature of prototyping, proofs-of-concept, and experimentation and the importance of doing the most efficient thing that gathers the best learning.
  • Able to learn new methods, approaches, and best practices around product discovery.
  • You can lead large and complex projects, keeping the team and client aligned, managing tactical work from the team, timelines as well as client relationships, and changing needs.
  • You know how to define and prioritize problems to be tackled.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in digital product and service delivery (Product Manager, UX Lead).
  • Able to facilitate in-person and remote workshops using tools like Miro, Mural, or FigJam.
  • Strong experience in consulting and working with different clients and stakeholders directly, and the shift in focus required moving from project to project.
  • Ability to translate business priorities and user needs into research questions, design insights, and product experiences.
  • Experience working with multiple types and sizes of organizations, from Seed level startups to large enterprise organizations, and understanding the different constraints, pros, and cons involved in working with each kind.
  • Experience working as a product manager or UX lead on product delivery teams in agile and lean environments with a nuanced understanding of varying principles, methods, and practices in developing quality software.
  • Solid understanding of various agile and lean methodologies, including the importance of product discovery and dual-track agile with a single, collaborative team.
  • Experience in UI design, working with designers and with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.), with solid experience in web-based/mobile applications
  • Experience running research using various methods, both moderated and un-moderated, and synthesizing that research data.

Desired (not required)

  • Experience contributing to a team building consumer-facing and B2B products.
  • Experience in Usability Testing, Heuristic evaluations, and product experimentation
  • Experience leading, growing, and mentoring other peers in your discipline.
  • Experience planning and facilitating Design Sprints with clients
