Job Overview
As a Product Owner, you will work closely with the Product Lead and Chief Technology Officer, and be responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, assisting in defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver world class products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
As a Business Analyst you will work closely with all internal and external stakeholders to capture and articulate business requirements and high-level designs while staying sympathetic to our Agile execution philosophy.
As Product Owner you will work closely with our disparate Agile Scrum team(s) helping them to prioritise their workload, report team progress to internal and external stakeholders as well as organising and leading periodic (Sprint on Sprint) product demonstrations.
The role requires knowledge of business, data analysis and technology, plus excellent communication and organisational skill, the role will be rewarding but challenging.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- To support the Scrum team(s) as a Product Owner/Business Analyst
- To provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the Virtualstock product portfolio and create requirements.
- To ensure that the Scrum team(s) always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on.
- To plan and prioritise Product Feature Backlog and development for the product
- To liaise with the Product Management team and other key stakeholders to define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities.
- To assist in assessing value, develop cases, and prioritise stories, Epics and Themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
- To manage Product & Sprint Backlogs, undertake iteration planning, and provide elaboration of the user stories.
- To liaise with Product Lead to create and maintain a Product Backlog according to business value or ROI.
- To lead the planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new features.
- To undertake an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
- To assist in undertaking research and analysis into markets, users, and the product roadmap.
- To follow our competitors and the industry.
- To keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
- To produce and maintain feature briefing documentation to key stakeholders.
- To produce, maintain and deliver training to key internal and external stakeholders.
- To assist in promoting the product to stakeholders through training sessions, webinars, newsletters and other mechanisms.
- To assist the Product Management function to deliver on the overall Product objectives/goals.
- To be a recognised expert in the business on the product, the market, relevant technology and the competition.
- To present product demos to stakeholders and develop relationships in key clients; as well as internal Sprint Demo’s to your peers.
- To assist in promoting the product to stakeholders through training sessions, webinars, newsletters and other mechanisms.
- To evangelise the product internally and externally.
- To train and certify as a SAFe/Agile Product Owner and Business Analyst.
You may be assigned additional responsibilities as required.
Key Contacts & Relationships
- Work closely with the Product Lead & Scrum Team(s) to ensure the efficient delivery of the Product Roadmap.
- Work with an internal UX/UI Designer to define the UX/UI for all Virtualstock platforms
- Liaise with the internal client experience team to ensure all business requirements are understood, documented and met.
- Liaise with the external clients/partners to ensure all business requirements are understood, documented and met.
- Liaising with the Cloud Infrastructure Team and CTO to ensure that all technical roadmap tasks are clearly understood and prioritised in conjunction with new Product Features.
- Keep management (CTO/Product Lead) informed of feature development progress, identifying impediments to the delivery of new features.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Provien commercial experience as a Product Owner/Business Analyst in a SaaS company, delivering a world-class product/service.
- Experience of working with Remote UK and Overseas teams.
- Holds Agile Product Owner/Business Analyst Certification
- Experience of working with Scalable Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar frameworks.
- Proven commercial experience in the areas of Supply Chain, Dropship, Online Marketplaces and/or Public Sector Procurement [Advantageous].
