The role
The Digital Content Creator will be a key member of both the School of Biological Sciences and of the Marketing Team at the University of Bristol. This is an exciting, creative role to help give the School of Biological Science greater visibility as part of the University of Bristol brand through the creation of high-quality content.
The Digital Content Creator will work closely with and be line managed by the Marketing Manager in our Faculty of Life Sciences and will be embedded with colleagues in the School of Biological Sciences to create compelling marketing content for our digital channels (paid, owned and earned). This could include covering research projects and their impacts, day-to-day lectures and practical classes, highlighting our student community or reporting on field trips. The aim is for the content to help the School improve awareness and demand generation, and will engage prospective students and other key stakeholders, showcasing the School’s USPs and activities.
You will work in a faculty marketing team of 3, but will be part of the wider Marketing and Communications Directorate. With a hybrid working pattern, the role will be based a minimum of 2 days onsite in Clifton. Flexible working pattern options are open for discussion. What will you be doing?
- You will lead on ideas for content creation and will need to be able to produce high-quality short and long form video, imagery/photography, infographics, GIFs and other illustrations which will engage target audiences and encourage them to complete campaign calls to action.
- You will be expected to work on multiple, creative projects at a time and candidates will need to have strong planning and organisational skills to execute and deliver to multiple deadlines.
- You will be proactive in getting things done and work diplomatically and influentially to do so within multiple teams.
You should apply if
- You can create content quickly, to a high standard, and in the correct social media channel formats.
- You are highly competent in industry-standard Adobe photo, audio and video editing software.
- You have strong DSLR and video skills and experience.
- You have a good knowledge of the latest social media content trends and techniques.
- You have relevant vocational/degree qualifications or relevant formal training, plus professional experience in a similar role(s).
