Job description
The Product Owner provides a key link between several departments within Impero. Through effective aggregation and utilization of the knowledge that exists within the organisation, and a sound grasp of the external market for their assigned product(s), the person in this role will help to define and guide the direction of their Product(s).
Research Activities
- Conduct market research supported by customer interaction. Understand the customer and the problem they are looking to solve with the Product(s).
- Work with customers and non-customers to discover areas where we can create competitive advantages.
- Look into competitors, standards and market changes applicable to product range and product sectors.
Strategic Activities
- Define and communicate the Product vision by leading and collaborating across teams (primarily Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing).
- Develop market requirements and product positioning.
- Analyse potential partner relationships for the Product(s).
- Analyse competition to identify differentiators, strengths and weaknesses of the Product(s).
- Create business cases for new product development to achieve sponsorship.
Tactical Activities
- Provide guidance to engineering teams on development priorities.
- Work with infrastructure team to support smooth delivery of Product.
- Act as point of first reference for all product related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues to address any issues that may arise.
- Ensure product documentation & product training resources are correct and are communicated internally.
- Work with Product Marketing Manager to ensure Product documentation and collateral is produced and available.
- Maintain correct balance of feature development vs project based development.
- Create strong relationships with key customers, strategic technical partners and industry bodies.
Outward Communication Activities
- Provide sales channel with knowledge necessary to effectively sell the product.
- Support marketing activities such as exhibitions, dealer meetings and technical conferences.

- Ideally educated up to Degree level
- Experience in a similar role
- Excellent understanding of Educational Market
- Experience with large data sets
- Strong technical expertise
- Excellent Communication skills
