Job description
The Role:
The Product Owner will be responsible for the change and run of end user hardware (laptops, mobiles, desktop and peripheral equipment), desktop applications, print, mobile telephony and asset management, working with high profile programs of work to introduce new services and oversight of the product roadmap and debt for the platforms and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering change and operational services for a large user base
- Estimating resource, cost and time requirements to make changes to relevant products, feeding into project estimates and shaping prioritization for the relevant products across the portfolio in collaboration with key stakeholders within the product group and broader organisation.
- Delivering technical and service solutions to meet agreed acceptance / definition of ready criteria for identified requirements, through the application of agile and DevOps practices.
- Management of the Products budget, and recharging of actual work completed to sponsoring divisions and projects
- Setting and tracking performance against Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensuring the Product team’s compliance with relevant governance requirements
- Supporting operations out of hours as part of an on-call rota as required
Minimal Experience:

- Excellent knowledge of end user hardware technologies, asset management principles/processes and Microsoft technology.
Essential:
- Significant experience in leading the delivery for a complex product or range of products, across the spectrum of IT change and run capabilities with a particular focus on Asset Management, desktop applications and Microsoft End User technologies.
- Significant experience in ITIL based service management, incident and problem management to a diverse business
- Significant experience in estimating resource, cost and time requirements to deliver change and run activities across a suite of products
- Significant experience in capacity, availability and release
- Significant experience in planning to deliver change
- Technical knowledge and exposure to relevant technical architectures, environments, platforms and business practices
- Effective influencing and negotiating at a senior level, communicating explicit and implicit trade-offs that impact the enterprise.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, managing up to director level, and then managing down to the team this role has responsibility for.
- Responsibility for managing key suppliers to the FCA that provide technology services at a macro and micro level as required, ensuring that the FCA receives the best possible service
- Understanding of IT contracts, review of obligations and ensuring suppliers are held accountable
- Written and verbal communication skills are critical – the role will require business case papers to be written in particular around spend on assets.
Desirable:
- Credible leader, able to adapt style to build strong relationships with senior leaders, collaborating across the organisation and use various techniques to facilitate innovation.
- Problem Solving, can recommend and make final decisions in relation to actions required to restore functionality and use
- Experience of software application/infrastructure life-cycle management, and the activities involved in application/infrastructure development/change, with specific knowledge of the relevant products
- Commercially aware, the ability to understand supplier proposals and promote cost effective solutions
- Experience of end to end life cycle management of IT services
- Understanding and experience in Service Design and Service Transition
- Understanding the need for IT Service continuity and ensuring services are able to meet the needs of the business in the event of a disaster

The base salary range for this role is up to £64,000 to £108,000 (London) and £62,000 to £101,000 (National) per annum, plus an additional flexible allowance.
