Summary
At M&S, we are turbo-charging Digital & Data through our people! To support this transformation, we are looking for an outstanding Product Manager to holistically lead the product management process from strategy, product planning and build/buy, to launch and optimization – coordinating with relevant partners throughout that lifecycle.
Working as part of the 'In Store Digital Selling' product group, you'll craft an industry leading selling experience in M&S stores, for both customer and colleague, bridging our traditional channels through technology-powered solutions that connect assisted and self-service touchpoints. Acting as the voice of the customer/colleague, you'll translate this into a product roadmap and backlog, constantly prioritising and leading capacity to improve value.
Working with the wider Product team and other business partners, you'll collaborate on cross team dependencies and develop strong working relationships.

What you'll do
- Identify and apply insight from customer research, data analytics, market and competitor analysis, as well as industry, product and technology trends.
- Build complex business cases that include: market analysis, costs, business/user benefits, OPEX & CAPEX calculations, sensitivity analysis and NPS output.
- Run a backlog of stakeholder requirements, customer problems, new features, optimising existing features, technical debt, quick wins vs strategic projects.
- Contribute to each quarterly prioritisation process and create a high-level product roadmap, presenting it to wider teams and stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Demonstrate a good level of comprehension of the full technology stack and understand how your product interacts with all areas of the business.
- Develop clear and compelling value propositions, working with business partners to align and agree.
- Set clear objectives and key results for new features, working in conjunction with analytics if required.
- Seek out possible solutions to customer problems from across the technology and retail industry, working with procurement and stakeholders to scope, negotiate, and manage trials & implementations within your product stack.
- Own the business readiness for your features collaborating with all parties involved to clearly communicate what will be released and when.
Who you are
- You are a connector, bringing people together you help make improvements even in areas you do not own.
- Experience in product management, demonstrating successful development and delivery of product strategies, roadmaps through to product launch and optimisation.
- Extensive experience and passion for the relevant product area and a deep understanding of the customer, with excellent technical capability.
- Experience of leading successful delivery in an Agile software environment to deliver customer-led outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills and strong experience in dealing with business partners - relatability to non-technical business users and technical resources.
- Commercial judgement and analytical capability to inform decisions around when to build, partner, or buy solutions.
- Excellent ability to prioritise requirements and carry out competitive analysis skills, pricing and financial planning.
- You have the ability to strongly influence decisions you don't own.
