You will be working in Speckle's Web Squad as a Product Engineer to combine the role of application developer with that of UI/UX specialist.
In this role, you will be researching, designing, and implementing new features for Speckle, as well as rethinking existing functionality.

Your responsibilities

  • You create prototypes and test them, run experiments, and understand their results
  • You take care of user research to wireframing and making prototypes to visualize the layout and structure of the new features or redesigned functionality
  • You release MVPs to gather user feedback and validate assumptions
  • You pay special attention to integrating the 3D viewer seamlessly with the application e.g. consider factors like loading times, model rendering, navigation controls, and collaboration features to provide an immersive and user-friendly experience
  • You strive for both good-looking and intuitive designs with a strong focus on visual aesthetics, such as layout and typography, while ensuring that the overall user experience remains clear and intuitive.
  • You work closely with our Product Designer and with developers and have a shared understanding of the design intent
Your profile

  • You bring strong knowledge in design- and prototyping
  • You convert a design into a pixel-perfect & functioning frontend application using modern technologies & approaches
  • You have experience in creating responsive designs that work equally well on devices of all sizes and capabilities
  • You value a strong desire to delight through accessible interactions centred around a person’s needs
  • You have experience with Figma and building frontends with Vue.js and Tailwind
  • You are a strong team player who can collaborate effectively within a distributed team
  • You have strong communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs and suggestions
Ideally, you show:
  • Experience in designing intuitive UIs for data heavy applications
  • Awareness of performant frontend- and web development principles & concepts
  • Any experience with the following: automated UI test development, maintaining a design system, utility-first CSS frameworks (e.g. Tailwind), ThreeJS, TypeScript, Nuxt.js.
