Reporting & Supervisory Responsibility
This position reports to the Director, Current Product Engineering
Key Job Elements
- Validate changes and update documentation to maintain original design specifications
- Provide technical specifications of released/existing product components and assemblies to support sourcing and manufacturing including internal and contract manufacturer support
- Initiate Document Change Notices and Deviations, in support of sourcing, manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects
- Maintain the integrity of product documentation throughout the product lifecycle
- Support Quality systems through warranty returns analysis, including root cause problem solving (components and/or systems). Includes mechanical, electromechanical, and software interaction where applicable
- Support Operating System to complete both New Product Development and Sustaining projects including 3rd party certification support
- Actively participate in MRB process as needed
- Maintain Third Party Certification status of released products where applicable. (UL, ECE, CSA, etc.)
- Support the Continuous Improvement by identifying specific opportunities for process, system, and products
- Demonstrate effective departmental/interdepartmental communication and teamwork skills
- Actively participate in the Corporate Quality Improvement Process
- Adhere to company safety procedures and other guidelines. Communicate all safety concerns, accidents and safety improvement opportunities
- Maintain equipment or property provided. Keep work areas clean and orderly
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Education
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience
5+ years of experience in design, product validation testing, test fixture, and root cause problem solving (mechanical and electromechanical designs), 3D CAD software tools required (SolidWorks highly preferred) required
Must have strong understanding of aluminum diecast, plastics injection molding, rubber molding, stamping & electronics assembly
Must demonstrate ability to work multiple concurrent projects
