In Sainsbury’s Trading Operations, we pride ourselves on supporting our trading and retail teams in the execution of their day-to-day activities. We provide first, second- and third-line support for several key Trading systems and use the insight gained to foster a culture of continuous improvement looking at driving efficiencies. We are also the masters of Product Data that is key to ensuring the smooth running of our systems.
As Product Data Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring that all Commercial product data is accurately entered into core trading systems and made easily available to downstream processes and systems. The core integrity of our commercial product data is the critical factor in enabling the efficient operations of most commercial processes, and with an aspiration to achieve constant 100% accuracy this will have significant business wide benefits.
We’re a diverse team, but one thing we all have in common is a positive attitude to problem solving that helps us to keep our heads when other might be losing theirs. Joining this team requires someone who has great organisational skills, a can-do attitude and experience in using MSOffice – particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
As a Product Data Assistant, you’ll:
- Be responsible for the 100% accurate entry of data into core trading systems to ensure trading teams are provided with correct landing cost prices for direct imported products.
- Escalate inaccurate or missing data issues as required
- Work with finance and tech support to ensure duty rates are correct within trading systems.
- Ensuring commodity codes are up to date and assigned correctly within trading systems.

- Good written and oral communication skills
- A “positive can do” attitude with a desire to learn and improve
- Resilient and able to work under pressure
- Some existing knowledge of Retail and/ or Commercial trading processes/ systems desirable
- Organised, with strong attention to detail
