General Dynamics Mission Systems UK is looking for a skilled and collaborative Procurement Manager to join our inclusive and welcoming team. This full-time procurement management role comes with an excellent starting salary of up to £65k and benefits.
As a skilled Procurement Manager, you will be directly responsible for the procurement of all components and material-related matters within the Avionics business streams. You will also manage procurement teams to ensure the skills, capabilities and processes needed to support the business unit’s financial and central goals are achieved.
In your first few weeks in this procurement management job, you can expect to:
- Direct and coordinate procurement team activities necessary to successfully support internal customer commodity and service procurement requirements on site
- Manage all indirect and direct commodity procurement
- Review and negotiate terms and conditions to ensure the business is legally covered, de-risked and profitable
- Focus on cost savings/avoidance through supplier cost negotiation, process improvements/enhancements, utilising the AWAR and design to cost processes
- Manage supplier performance regarding quality, delivery and cost
To apply for this Procurement Manager role, you will need a degree or equivalent in business administration, engineering or accounting and a CIPS qualification. You will also require the following:
- Proven procurement experience in a high technology, defence, government or manufacturing environment
- Organised procurement and subcontract management experience, ideally in the aerospace, defence, government or project-guided manufacturing environment
- Background working in calculated environments (what needs to be done now to achieve the current business objectives) and the principal environment (establishing and aligning the team around central business objectives)
- Experience in challenging the norm, identifying, influencing and managing ‘best practice’ change implementation of processes and procedures

In this role, we operate hybrid working (with time split between home and our facilities each week) or you can be based full time within our offices in Hastings.
