Position Overview:
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to Metal Procurement Manager UK the jobholder plays a significant role in developing and maintaining
relationships with internal stakeholders as well as with 3rd party suppliers of material and logistics. They will carry out
administrative tasks related to metal procurement for Novelis UK to maintain accurate data several platforms and
ensure the smooth flow of material into site and export out of the country. The job holder will be based at the Novelis
Warrington Recycling Plant.

• Administrate the purchase ordering process for metal, including the entry of purchase orders into the local ERP

system and confirming with suppliers; entering requests for foreign currency on overseas purchase; and placing
metal hedges into an on-line hedging system.

• Maintain a regular contact with the Latchford plant / Supply Chain and Planning to understand operational

opportunities and constraints for scrap supply.

• Make sure appropriate scrap is delivered in the correct volume at the right time
• Participate in management of inventories on site and at the stocking points within the agreed levels.
• Develop sustainable relationships with Key Logistic Suppliers
• Conduct close monitoring of supplier adherence to orders
• Carry out and develop analysis on purchasing activity
• Incoming vehicle scheduling and booking
• Manage day to day relationships with suppliers and 3rd party logistics partners
• Support in the compilation of Quality data to validate performance tracking and claims for material contamination
• Manage and validate day to day data flow of Automotive material from numerous supply routes
• Assist in monthly consolidation process with Automotive routes from JLR press shops, Tier one press shops

and third-party locations

• Validation of invoices for Recycling Procurement departmental metal purchases and services
• Assist in the management of third-party dross conversion data and contractual service-provider performance
• Understand and provide back-up for the Self-billing payment system and in the payment, claim and PRN

(Packaging Recovery Note) process and reporting through the Environment Agency

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Able to work independently and be a good team player to work seamlessly within the Metal team and with

other functions

• Articulate and able to communicate clearly at all levels and with external suppliers. With the ability to build and

maintain sustainable business relationships

• Professional and with high level of integrity in order communicate effectively with metal suppliers and 3rd

party service providers

• A good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software is required
• Ability to work with SAP. To input and extract key information from company ERP
• Logistics knowledge and experience with a good understanding of import/export procedures

Location Profile:
The Latchford plant a suburb of Warrington Cheshire in England employs approximately 170 employees. It is a dedicated recycling plant for used beverage cans (UBC) and automotive scrap with the capacity to recycle around 200’000 tons of aluminium. Warrington is located closely to the cities of Liverpool and Manchester as well as to Sankey Valley Park with wildlife paths and sculpture with enough outdoor activities for all ages. The Latchford plant is committed to its community in supporting math and science education to local schools as well as sharing the value of safety and works with a local charitable foundation to sponsoring health. In addition Novelis UK supports the program “Every Can Counts” to actively promote can recycling across Europe.
