R. Plevin & Sons Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a Material Processor/Machine Driver to join our busy team based at our Elkesley site. Working on a full time, permanent basis you will receive a competitive salary with a starting rate of £27,769 per annum - there is potential to earn more on our progressive pay bands to £30,247 per annum, if you are keen to learn and develop.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 06:00 -16:00 hours
47.5 hours per week
R. Plevin & Sons is one of the UK market leaders in wood recycling and a manufacturer of animal bedding. This role is based in our wood recycling yard.
As our Material Processor/Machine Driver your duties will include:
- Full adherence to health and safety procedures and to site rules
- Loading material into trailers
- Moving (wood-based) material for onward processing
- Loading and running the shredding machines
- Carrying out mobile plant checks, fueling up, checking oil and water, greasing up etc.
- Checking incoming loads of wood material to ensure loads are correct to specification, reporting any contaminants in the loads.
- Manual sorting of pre-crushed wood to remove contaminants prior to processing.
- Maintaining housekeeping around the site to a high standard.
Please note that there will be some manual handling involved in this role.
Key skills and experience needed to become our Material Processor/Machine Driver:
- Loading Shovel driving experience and a valid loading shovel licence is essential
- Previous experience of operating a FLT is desirable, along with a valid FLT licence
- Experience of operating a teletruk and a valid teletruk licence is desirable. (teletruk conversion training can be provided to suitable FLT licence holders)
- Self motivated
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weathers
