Our team holds extensive experience in supporting processors within the UK and around the world regularly working with some of the world’s largest food and drinks companies so when you come to us, you know you are in safe hands.
You will lead a small team of validation technologists (2-4 direct reports), in the delivery of scientific and technical projects for clients, particularly focusing on thermal and non-thermal processing technologies.
Position
You will lead a small team of validation technologists (2-4 direct reports), in the delivery of scientific and technical projects for our thermal processing clients, with focus on the validation of thermal processes.
- Planning and managing own project work activities to meet project deadlines. These will be the more technical validation and/or consultancy projects, some of which will involve travel to client sites in the UK and abroad
- Proposing and delivering funded research, around thermal and none-thermal processing technologies
- Design and provision of training courses and presentations on external/internal training courses, seminars and symposia
- Development of the technical and professional skills of staff reports
- Responsible for the business development of thermal validation contract work; building client relationships, preparing/reviewing quotes and oversight of validation work bookings
- Responding to direct technical enquiries and requests for thermal validation advice
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in engineering or food technology
- A fundamental awareness of the importance of heat processing in the food industry
- It would be advantageous to have several years work experience in a food production related setting
- Proven business development skills, with the potential and desire to develop these further
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (client meetings, emails, reports)
- Time management and financial awareness to facilitate effective project management
- Some experience of people management is advantageous
- Experience or enthusiasm to develop into a people manager
- Full UK/EU driving licence and eligibility to live/work in the UK. Ability to travel within the UK and Europe
