Shift Process Technician

Purpose of the role
Be part of a team that is responsible for the operational aspects of fibre production, from raw material to baled fibre, and contribute to the on-going continuous improvement of safety, process and product.
This is a full time position, with the following shift pattern: 7 x 4 on/ 4 off (12-hour shifts, working 2 days, 2 nights), followed by an 18-day break.
Key tasks & responsibilities
Safely operate plant and equipment unsupervised (following written SWPs); carry out required quality control audit tests, take any necessary corrective action to address out of spec. results, and complete the associated documentation- Work with a computer-based SCADA control system and use control screens, historical trends and alarm logs to maintain stable operation and to diagnose faults
- Report any incidents or Near Misses (Safety and Environmental) to minimise risk of recurrence, participate in routine safety audits/inspections, and ensure unsafe acts or conditions are dealt with
- Work as part of a team to rectify plant breakdown or mal-operation
- Ensure that both work performance and behaviour meet internal and external Health, Safety & Environmental standards, and maintain the highest standards of plant housekeeping and hygiene
- Maintain clear logs and provide personal hand-over at shift change to ensure efficient inter-shift communication
- Rotate as required to support other production areas, share information, and train others in your areas of expertise.
Our expectations for this exciting role
- Minimum GCSE Maths and English Language grade A-C or equivalent
- Previous experience in a continuous manufacturing environment is required.
- You must be able to drive a fork lift truck
- You must be able to demonstrate a safe and responsible attitude.
- You should be a good communicator with the ability to work effectively individually or as part of a team, and good numeracy and literacy skills
- You must be flexible, willing to adopt new practices, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
- . You must be willing to be actively involved in developing the safety culture

The annual salary for this role is expected to be between £32,000 and £37,000 (gross).
