  • Be a quick learner, with the ability to use computer systems and on-line learning modules which are essential to the role.
  • You need to be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision, and you must be able to make effective decisions based on risk within agreed guidelines.
You will become an expert in running some of the complex plant on-site, and our approach is to combine your experience with industry standards when determining the best operating practises for the site.
Maintaining a safe working environment is our primary concern and responsibility, and you will be expected to work within this ethos – raising and reviewing hazards with line management to minimise workplace health and safety risks as far as reasonably practicable.
Our impact on our neighbours is of paramount importance to us, and you will be expected to manage activities and maintain housekeeping standards so that they benefit our stakeholders.
You will be frequently exposed to controlled hazards such as gas, chemicals and raw sewage and work in Confined Spaces, and occasional work wearing breathing apparatus.
You will be required to work in a challenging physical environment where you are routinely exposed to adverse conditions such as dirt, water and odours. Training will be provided, but previous knowledge is desirable. Working knowledge of ATEX and DSEAR standards is also valued.
Previous experience with Control of Contractors, Permit writing, as well as work with Steam and Pressure systems is also beneficial.
