Job Purpose

As a Process Operator you will work in either the Perspex or Alanine dosimeter production environment, and report to the Production Manager.

Working as part of a team to perform a range of assigned activities, Process operators are involved in the production of dosimeters or overseeing the processing of materials. Working as part of a team to perform a range of assigned activities including product inspection, moving materials, operating machinery and tools, measuring and mixing ingredients, packaging products and maintaining records.

This may involve using specialist electrical and mechanical machinery or chemicals.

Duties

Program and operate the computer system that operates the machinery, used in manufacture and production of material.
Conduct inspections of key process points in your area of work, to identify anything abnormal. If an issue is identified, make necessary machinery and equipment adjustments, and implement the proper response, including notifying supervisors.
Maintaining detailed reports of operations, including updating process logbooks with activities and process adjustments made, noting any issues encountered.
Carry out routine operation of processing equipment in the manufacturing of all dosimeter products. Following all safety instructions to prevent injury or accidents.
To co-operate and work as a team in the processing of dosimeters as required.
To follow instructions and directions of any member of the site Management team in order to support HDL day to day business objectives.

Duties Continued

To work to and maintain processing operations within all the relevant WI’s/LOI’s.
To work within Quality procedures and instructions to maintain the certifications and regulatory requirement needed by the company.
To assist the site management team during internal and external audits as required.
Work with the management team to investigate corrective actions or preventative actions following customer complaints
Ensuring timely and effective communication and escalation process to raise quality issues to the appropriate levels of management.
To ensure products are produced and stored according to the appropriate documentation in order to obtain the required quality
To ensure that the production records are evaluated and signed by an authorised person
To maintain a clean working environment, helping with regular routine maintenance as requested by any member of the site management team.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in English.
  • Able to write clearly and correctly in order to complete paperwork associated with the job.
  • Team player and willing to work with others across the business
  • Effective use of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision
  • Willingness to undergo training in all processing operations as well as other tasks such as preparing despatches.
  • Ability to report mistakes, faults and accidents to the management.
  • Trained to required standards in Health and Safety and observe all safety requirements when carrying out duties.
  • Provide daily communication with production staff regarding performance, areas for improvement, company news/updates, etc, including hosting the daily PIT meeting.
  • Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to influence people in their opinions, attitude or judgements; to generalize, evaluate and make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc.
