Process Manager
About the Unit
We are seeking to recruit a Process Manager, the role is days based to provide effective leadership and strategic management of the Production and Warehouse team, with the Shift Supervisors reporting into the role.
Yara Pocklington is a leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of speciality nutrient products for use in agriculture worldwide. The business has grown significantly in recent years and Yara has extremely ambitious growth objectives for its YaraVita business. The Pocklington site is a medium sized speciality production facility. It is a top tier COMAH site involved in the batch production and packaging of speciality liquid and powder nutrient products. Founded in 1905, we have been present in Pocklington since 1967 and have a global presence with more than 16,000 employees and sales in almost 160 countries.
Responsibilities
Primarily will be:
- To be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of the Production and Warehouse functions.
- To promote continuous improvement in methods, systems, and procedures, while continuing to encourage teamwork, reduce costs and develop employee potential.
Profile
- Effective team leader with the interpersonal skills to manage and develop individuals in the team
- Proven multi-tasking, priority management and decision-making skills
- A degree in a manufacturing/engineering/chemistry-based subject is preferable. As a minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production Leadership role
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and a good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other attendant regulations – Minimum IOSH level 2 Managing Safely required, with a NEBOSH level 3 and a working knowledge of COMAH is extremely advantageous.
- Highly organized with good analytical skills – able to balance priorities in a fast-moving production environment
- Experience of working with a Permit to Work system within a chemical environment is desirable.
- Experience with, and understanding of, Lean Manufacturing principles would be valuable
- Strong problem-solving skills
