Job Summary:
As our Chemical Process Engineer, you will utilize your engineering experience and knowledge gained from training to conduct LCI’s Thermal Separations and Powder Handling Technologies to support specialty equipment sales. Responsibilities include running laboratory feasibility studies (PES) and customer–attended Test Center trials to develop scale-up data. Also responsible for system design/costing, proposals, field service/troubleshooting, and start-ups.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform Test Center demonstrations and Laboratory evaluations, as a precursor to sales, on client material incorporating LCI’s technology and experience. Analyze the test data and write reports for the Tests and Preliminary Evaluations.
- Design systems for specific product applications based on analysis of the test results and customer data, along with LCI know-how and experience to maximize LCI’s competitive situation.
- Estimate cost of proposed systems and prepare proposals. Writing proposals including costing jobs and maintaining pricing levels in a way that will maximize LCI’s competitiveness and profit margins.
- Travel to customer sites to discuss potential applications, help set strategy, and present seminars covering LCI technologies. Domestic and international travel for start-ups of leased and purchased equipment up to 20%.
- Inspect equipment during and after fabrication and assembly to ensure they meet the client’s requirements and expectations. Communicate any deficiencies to the appropriate persons.
- All other duties that may be necessary from time to time outside the normal scope of your job description that will contribute toward the company meeting its goals and objectives.
Your Education and Experience
- 5 plus years’ experience as a Process Engineer or a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license desired.
- Understand well heat transfer and fluid mechanics fundamentals.
- Familiar with instrumentation and controls.
- Proficient in reading Engineering drawings (PFD’s, PID’s, GA’s, etc...)
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Comfortable with conducting oral presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Dynamics 365 (CRM), Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
- Process Simulation Software (ASPEN), AutoCad, OSHA & EPA training, and safety training are desirable knowledge.
