The Process Engineer role will be based at the site in Billingham.
The main purpose of the Process Engineer is to provide technical support to support the production plants on the Billingham site, ensuring safe and reliable operation of the plants. To identify causes of operating problems and to undertake improvement actions to support the safe, cost effective and reliable operation and carry out work on capital projects and safety improvements. The postholder will act as the technical lead for projects and turnaround activities, and support Management in the delivery of departmental objectives such as costs, projects and people development, with the overall aim of facilitating the delivery of business plans.
Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:
- Working with operations personnel to identify, develop and implement solutions to plant issues.
- Development of capital projects.
- Longer term planning for future plant efficiency and/or reliability improvement. Monitoring and optimisation of catalysts and reactions within the plants.
- Pressure Relief, HAZOP, SIL, Human Factors etc. as required to support the site Safety Management System.
- Lead the management of change for nominated plants.
- Working in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Undertaking failure analyses including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of plant outages, when required.
- Month end production and variable cost reporting.
The successful Process Engineer must be degree educated in a relevant discipline and have experience working in a similar role in the chemicals manufacturing sector. Experience working on a top tier COMAH site would be required as well as a good understanding of safety systems, such as relief valves, LOPA, SIL, Hazop.
