As a Full-Time Specialist in the Field of Process Engineering, your primary responsibilities will include managing, planning, and enhancing production methods and processes. You will be an active participant in cross-functional teams representing manufacturing engineering throughout the design and development process. Additionally, you will collaborate with fellow colleagues in various engineering functions, production, research, marketing, and after-sales service.

The following are the responsibilities that come with this position:

• Examine equipment, processes, operations, and assembly procedures to identify potential revisions in time or quality, and suggest improvements.

• Monitor operations standards and implement changes. Evaluate vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.

• Select appropriate manufacturing processes and apply modern organizational principles to produce products at a competitive cost.

• Optimize current and new manufacturing processes using continuous improvement techniques.

• Develop a system for fabricating parts and assemblies.

• Conduct Capability Studies and Time Studies.

• Develop processes, including Visual Work Instructions.

• Provide shop support and troubleshoot processes.

• Reduce costs (scrap, rework, cycle time, etc.).

• Specify tools, jigs, and fixtures.

• Coordinate projects and troubleshoot on a daily basis.

• Participate in Kaizen events.

The following qualifications are required for this position:

• A BS in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or related combined experience.

• 2-4 years of engineering project experience in a metal manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques, Capability Studies, Process Mapping, FMEA, and root cause analysis.

• Must be able to take a lead role in projects and be comfortable in a fast-paced continuous improvement environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to manage multiple tasks with aggressive deadlines.

• Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office.

• Strongly preferred experience in Pro-E & Auto Cad.

$33.65 - $43.26 / hr
