We are seeking a Privacy Analyst to help improve Babylon’s commitment to a strong privacy program by applying fair information practices and privacy by design principles throughout our products, services and our clinical operations. This role will work with teams across the business to ensure that privacy risks are identified and addressed and ensure we are compliant, and our processes are documented. As Babylon continues its growth and maturation, this role and its responsibilities are incredibly important to the success of the business.
You will be engaged in assisting and advising on data protection compliance across the business including the UK, Rwanda, Canada and India. Reporting to the Data Protection Manager you'll be part of an international legal team responsible for documenting and ensuring implementation of data protection policies and procedures, alongside conducting research on upcoming legislation and regulatory guidance.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
- Respond to data subjects' rights requests (e.g. subject access requests; data erasure or rectification requests) and queries from data subjects.
- Work closely with the Medical Records team to facilitate requests within statutory deadlines.
- Assist with the legal department with risk identification and management.
- Support processes to ensure key performance indicators are in place and targets are met.
- Support internal privacy and compliance audits, as well as the Data Privacy team in investigating incidents involving personal data and escalating to the DPO as necessary.
- Complete data protection impact assessments for Babylon’s global products and services
- Monitor progress of the privacy programme and keep documentation and processes updated.
- Utilise and continuously improve Babylon’s implementation of OneTrust
- Liaise with suppliers and partners to ensure Babylon’s data protection obligations are fulfilled.
- Provide advice to other business units on operational activities, customer propositions and product design, to ensure they are compliant with relevant legislative/regulatory requirements.
- Assist the international legal team with cross-border projects from time to time.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Experience You Need (Required):
- A privacy professional with at least 2 years experience of data privacy law (including the UK GDPR) in an international setting providing a business with support on UK GDPR requirements as well as other privacy regulations, preferably in a healthcare or technology environment
- Experience in a regulatory compliance, risk compliance or legal advisory role spent specifically on data protection preferred.
- Relevant International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certifications (e.g. CIPP/E) would be advantageous.
- Experience of successful development, implementation and continuous improvement of risk management strategies, policies and frameworks across an organisation.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter attitude with a strong eagerness to drive the group's data protection agenda.
- Results-oriented, proactive, responsible, pragmatic person with a passion for privacy and an interest in technology
- Previous experience of OneTrust software would be advantageous
- Desire to be part of a fun but hard-working team
