Job description
Principal Legal Assistant
Grade 4 £30,151 - £37,261
Permanent
Working 36.5 hours per week
There is no bigger, or more exciting place to work right now than Birmingham. Following the success of the Commonwealth Games, we are on a bold transformation journey with grand ambitions for the City, our citizens and the Council.
We are looking for innovative and passionate individuals who are highly motivated and want the best possible outcomes for Birmingham’s 1.2 million citizens to join Compulsory Purchase Orders and Regeneration within our property legal team.
We are recruiting within the Property Legal Team for a Grade 4, Principal Legal Assistant, experience preferred this could be a development opportunity for the right candidate who is able to demonstrate transferable skills acquired from another practice area.
As the largest Local Authority in Europe, we offer successful candidates a diverse range of quality work and an opportunity to build on existing experience, reasonable internal targets, a good work life balance with flexitime, and other usual local authority benefits including an attractive local government salary related pension. If you are tired of “overly ambitious” billing targets, too much marketing, and a poor work life balance then this could be the place for you!
Working for us will give you the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects – some of which will be of national and international significance. The quality and complexity of the work is equal to that found in larger firms in the private sector, who are often “on the other side”.
For the time being it is anticipated that there will be substantial home working involved, although office space is available if desired. There will be the occasional requirement to attend the office where there is a business need.
You must upload a Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application. This is required for shortlisting; you need to describe how your experience and skills fit the essential criteria for the role as specified in the Person Specification. If you do not attach your Supporting Statement, your application will not be considered. Please do not attach CVs as we do not accept them.
Closing date 13 March 2023 23.59
Interviews for this post will take place virtually via video conferencing. Shortlisted candidates will be provided with further information.
