Humly is working with one of our fantastic primary schools in South Shields (NE33) who are looking for a motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work across all key stages, working 1:1 and with small groups of children. It would be a full-time position, starting ASAP and it will run till end of the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Helping pupils with their learning, often with a particular focus on maths, reading and writing
- Supervising group activities
- Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy
- Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials
- Motivating and encouraging pupils
- Monitoring and recording children’s behaviour and progress
It’s essential that you have:
A positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport
- A level 2/3 qualification in childcare or TA
- A strong regard for pupil safety and well-being
- Respect for diversity, as you'll be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds
- Communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, parents, teachers,and governors
- Excellent team working skills for working with other support staff
