Primary Engineering Supervisor
Job description
Ensuring optimum performance of the Site and Equipment at best value cost, effectively utilising resources
Attaining the engineering standards across the site by providing functional support and expertise
Positively impacting Production reliability through practical intervention on improvement activities, maintenance procedures and all stoppages
Ensuring effective communication levels with all departments in line with departmental standards
First point of contact for day to day production needs, delegate work to team members based on skills level required
Conduct team meetings and produce detailed handover reports, ensuring downtime escalation process is followed
Attend JTM meetings as engineering representative
Ensure Engineer's planned work is completed in the assigned time scales and to a high standard shift not to be left with unactioned work
Assist in assigned long-term preventative maintenance programs and projects
To support engineers with reactive maintenance problems and repair breakdowns in a safe manner, ensuring a permanent repair is in place and to a high standard.
Work with Line Manager to Identify training requirements and provide engineering and line tender training.
Work with Line Manager to understand equipment failure & OEE trends and drive improvement.
Ensure your team's work is captured using CMMs (Pirana) including detailed write ups, all parts are correctly booked out of stock, flag any missing parts/ parts low on stock/ gaps in stock to Line Manager and / or Engineering storeman.
Lead high standards of safety across the departments
Contribute towards continuous improvement projects
Ensure high standards of engineering workmanship and housekeeping across the site, incorporating 5s processes
Work to develop your teams input into the CMMS, data input, sign off notes, and parts book out
Identify and share best practice processes, continuing to raise awareness, improve performance and transitioning to a Pro-active engineering culture.
Drive your team to deliver the engineering objectives to ensure that the sites systems are being developed and are delivering continuous improvements through robust management systems and KPI measures
Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
Support the mentoring, coaching and development program of the team
Daily/weekend site support - site services, contractor control, supporting and liaising with senior management team, cover when Management are not on site
Ensure all engineering resources are used to maximum benefit keeping wastage to a minimum.
Carry out other reasonable requests, made to you by your manager, or a member of management for the achievement of both individual and Company goals
