Job Purpose:
The Inland Pricing Manager works with the inland product pricing tools to provide commercial proposals and responses for both new and renewing opportunities, across both UK Import and Export streams. Responsible for the production and maintenance of the pricing tariffs, and execution of the business plan, engage key stakeholders and be accountable for delivering our financial targets.
Monitoring and sharing observed market trends with the Area Head of Product and Growth Enablement Manager to contribute to the strategic plan for Intermodal product’s within the UK and Ireland.
Identify opportunities to simplify both systemic and manual processes to ensure that we have an effective pricing model to enable both a concise and responsive flow to all requests.
Actively participate and support within commercial pursuits and enable customer retention by effectively articulating our Intermodal solutions. Responsible for the production of “Own Area” pipeline report showing wins/losses and work in progress.
Ensure the entire organization have the latest up to date product information, training and utensils within their toolbox allowing them to promote and sell our product effectively.

Job Description:
Strategy
  • Contributor to the design and delivery of the strategic plan and visible roadmap of the product
  • Be a connector between Customer Experience, Sales and key stakeholders, ensuring these teams are supported with any customer product challenges as they arise
Product Ownership
  • Maintenance and distribution of Intermodal Value Propositions, marketing material, product sheets and capability overviews for both internal and external parties displayed offline or upon Maersk.Com.
  • Be responsible for tariffs and pricing for inland activity
  • Distribution of any required performance indicators
  • Decipher results and have the flexibility and adaptability to change direction setting when required to meet targets
  • Continuous development of the product and innovation of new ideas to generate new customers and additional revenue
  • Adopting or sharing best practices with other area’s around new products, market intelligence, process improvements and new software capabilities
  • Assist in the development of any new inland products
  • Support customer reviews and onboarding as a product SME
P&L ownership
  • Contributor to the Intermodal execution and commercial effectiveness
  • Understand and dissect performance figures to identify revenue leakage or to target specific segments that demonstrate healthy profit and benefits
  • Monitor operating costs and profitability to ensure all activities generate revenue
  • Ensure Revenue Leakage is addressed at all points in the billing process along with CX and Finance teams
  • Monitoring rail commitments, volumes and contracts overlaying any growth or loss opportunities to identify risks and rewards
Sales & Customer relations
  • Support with the sales strategy and specific customer targets in conjunction with the Growth Enablement Manager, Area Head of Product & the Area Heads of Sales
  • Support the sales teams on any required customer visits and provide Subject Matter Expert information, guidance around market conditions, trends and gather further customer insights
  • Develop strong working relationships with our customers and partners
  • Ensure commercial are fully trained, equipped with the latest up to date information, product solutions and competitive pricing
  • Provide commercial support with pricing, solution engineering options and material for tenders and projects
Person Specification:
  • A proven track record in a commercially orientated position of a complex nature
  • A strong entrepreneurial and innovation orientated mind-set with the ability to negotiate and conclude deals that are focused on a win/win partnership basis
  • The ability to build strong relationships with senior internal and external customers
  • A passion for getting the deal done and extremely goal orientated
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation with excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • An exceptionally strong team player with the capability to motivate and persuade others
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and projects, and react and adjust quickly to changing conditions within a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional networking skills
  • Strong report writing and ability to provide concise progress updates
  • Data driven with the ability to analyze and make the translation into appropriate action plans
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information to both internal and external stakeholders and customers
