We are looking for a Physicist to join our Testing team. Working Monday to Friday, you will be based in Stoke-on-Trent/Stone. Role Purpose
Working in our extensive and well-equipped laboratories, you will provide physics support on a wide range of client projects. Working to the quality requirements of ISO 17025, accuracy and an eye for detail are key requirements.
Accountabilities
- Support Physical Testing in the testing and development of test methods including thermomechanical testing, refractory and insulation testing, pore and particle characterisation, to in-house test methods and international standards; with UKAS accreditation to ISO17025.
Support the rest of the business in physics, mathematics and engineering applications as required.
Qualifications
BSc(Hons) Physics or Applied Mathematics
A Levels – Physics and Mathematics
Experience
Ideal for a graduate physicist with strong laboratory skills. Customer service skills as distinct advantage.
Knowledge/Skills
- Strong fundamental physics and mathematics knowledge
- Statistical and mechanical engineering skills an advantage
- Strong laboratory and scientific writing skill essential
- Ability to keep clear and accurate records
- Fluency with Excel and Microsoft Office essential
- Ability to work to schedules for the timely delivery of projects
- Willingness to learn new skills, techniques and processes
- Willingness to be flexible
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
