We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic practitioner psychologist to complete our team of psychologists working in Nephrology & Transplant.
The post involves specific clinical input to the Renal Service, including pre-transplant psychological assessment, and a commitment to the development of psychological expertise and a visible care model in specialised renal services.
The service is provided from Cardiff North Dialysis Unit in Pentwyn, however the post-holder will be expected to deliver services across South East Wales.
The post is managed by the Lead Consultant Psychologist for Nephrology & Transplant (Dr Louise Evans).
The post can be offered as a 7 post for newly qualified staff, or as an 8a post for people with appropriate experience. The 8a post is an excellent opportunity for those looking to progress their career, or for established 8as who want to be part of our developing service. We are also keen to hear from newly qualified applicants (and those close to completing their training) as this role can be offered as a 7 developmental post.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join the Nephrology & Transplant Psychology service.
The post-holder will join a small team of Psychologists, providing psychological care to patients within the renal service.
The role includes consultation, staff training, team formulation and psychological assessment and support to patients and their families. The post holder will be work across dialysis units, as well as from UHW inpatient areas and virtually as patient need requires.
There is access to a wealth of supervision and support within our friendly Psychology department.
We are looking for an applicant with knowledge and experience of working in medical/ health settings. This post would appeal to an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner, who enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
This is an exciting time to join Cardiff & Vale UHB. The UHB has supported the development of psychological expertise in medical settings and there is a growing Clinical Health and Neuropsychology Specialty. There is an active professional network for Clinical Psychologists in South Wales and you would be able to develop your professional and clinical skills via CPD opportunities.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
