Due to rapid growth, we are now recruiting for a Full-Time Practice Nurse to join our friendly and dedicated team in Northampton.
Job Summary
Clinical and Professional Responsibilities
- To be involved in and co-ordinate all aspects of providing general practice nursing services including Vaccinations & Immunizations, Asthma/Diabetes/COPD care, Health promotion and lifestyle advice, Women’s health, Smears, Sexual Health, Wound Care, Venepuncture, Blood Pressure and ECG’s.
- Assist our General Practitioners in the care of practice patients, to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education.
- To be compliant with all company protocols and procedures, national and local guidelines, CQC compliance, clinical governance, infection control standards and safeguarding.
- Recognize, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs in line with company policy
- Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions
- Promote the use of PSD’s
- Administer vaccinations where appropriate for patients travelling abroad ensuring full advice is given.
- Provide general and specific health screenings to practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to general practitioners as necessary
- Undertake the collection, storage and dispatch of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears etc. and ensure the Infection, Prevention & Control methods of any equipment so followed.
- Where applicable, ensure accurate clinical notes are recorded in the patients file on the clinical computer system.
- Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with all other disciplines within the practice, with appropriate regard to confidentiality & data protection legislation.
- Assess language or general communication barriers and identify ways to mitigate them
- Empathetically but professionally deal with patients and their family's during emotionally distressing outcomes should they receive bad news. This may include bereavement pathways.
- Safe management of sharps procedures including training, use, storage and disposal
- Waste management including collection, handling, segregation, container management, storage and collection
-Spillage control procedures, management and training
-Decontamination control procedures, management and training, and equipment maintenance
-Maintenance of sterile environments
- Be committed to maintaining your own registration and be able to demonstrate regular CPD activity as and when required by regulatory bodies.
- To contribute and attend regular in-house meetings both general and clinical as and when required.
- Facilitate new pathways for the development of the nursing service including relevant policies in line with clinical governance.

- Administration and telephone queries including answering patient enquiries, effectively and efficiently answer the reception phones to increase the practice’s conversion rate, log patient queries on the enquiries tracker and either make new bookings or add comments for follow ups to be made.
The ideal candidate must have
- Qualified Nurse
- Current NMC Registration
- Hold a right to work in the UK status
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience
- Passionate about delivering patient centered care
- Willingness to learn new skills and act as trailblazers for new to market treatments, only available in private clinics
- Ability to work closely with a team of highly qualified clinicians

Salary: £33,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
