Job description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in data management, including database migration, modernization, assessment, and architecture.
  • Experience consulting with technical audiences and C-level executives.
  • Experience managing a database-related team across EMEA.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading technical Sales teams in the domain of Data, including managing and developing C-level relationships.
  • Understanding of practice areas adjacent to Data Management, such as Data Analytics and AI/ML, in order to strategize around holistic customer and industry solutions.
  • Understanding of the executive planning process and consultative problem/solution positioning.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to an audience with various functional knowledge.
  • Ability to succeed in ambiguity in a dynamic and highly matrixed environment.

As the Practice Leader of Data Management Customer Engineering (CE) for Google Cloud EMEA, you will be responsible for leading the technical Data Management Practice to bring maximum value to Google Cloud’s customers in EMEA. You will engage with strategic customers across the EMEA region, interlocking with Product Management and Engineering to consolidate EMEA customer and partner technical needs to help define product roadmap and bring new product innovation to the EMEA market. You will lead the broader EMEA Data Management technical community, nurturing and growing a top talent technical team across EMEA, and leading through example as a thought leader on Data Management.

In this role, you will focus primarily on creating customer value through incubating and scaling new technology, defining a customer-focused strategy in collaboration with world-wide Product, Engineering, and Sales leadership, and working closely with peers leading other practices, such as Data Analytics and AI/ML, to bring holistic and repeatable solutions to customers across multiple industries.

Responsibilities

  • Set the direction and strategy for Data Management Practice EMEA to achieve significant growth in the Data Management business.
  • Guide the EMEA region technical interlock with Product Management and Engineering, ensuring that the consolidated customer need is represented in the product roadmap, and that new technology from the Product teams is incubated and scaled in the EMEA region.
  • Drive technical engagement with a set of strategic customers. Support the EMEA partner teams in technical programs with partners such as Scaled Enablement.
  • Lead the broader EMEA Data Management technical community to ensure that all perspectives can contribute to the EMEA needs.
  • Manage a team of technical Data Management experts reporting directly to you, as well as an extended team of technical experts in a matrixed organization.
